This home remodel included updating a small kitchen with dark wood cabinets and tile square countertops, a small island and an enclosed pantry upon entering through the back of the home. We increased the size of the kitchen in two ways: the combined mudroom, laundry room and pantry were integrated into the kitchen, and we built a cantilevered bumpout in the kitchen. The laundry room was relocated from the pantry to a closet in the hallway. We installed all new hardwood flooring in the main living areas, built a large island with tiered Vadara Calcutta Blanco countertops and cooktop with Zephyr hood above, and installed a number of white painted cabinetry pantries. The clients also wanted upper cabinets with glass doors to showcase the family crystal. A desk of matching cabinetry and quartz was added around the corner in the dining/family room to complement the kitchen, and the fireplace hearth was refinished, as well as the tile entryway being replaced with hardwood which ran down the hallway. The hall bathroom was completely gutted, and remodeled with gorgeous quartzite countertops on a double vanity. Lots of light, storage and warm wood floors completely transformed this lovely Lafayette, CA home.
