This Walnut Creek kitchen was dated, with maple cabinets, a large refrigerator splitting a long run of cabinets and counters, with a sink on the peninsula that was visible from the family room. The eating area at the end of the kitchen was lined with waist high cabinets, crowding the table and chairs. We removed the cabinets in the eating nook, replaced the others with white painted upper cabinets and terra taupe base cabinets. We replaced two windows, extended the peninsula and moved the sink out of view of the family room. The refrigerator was moved to the wall opposite the eating nook next to a very cool French Style Pro Door oven. The peninsula now seats four for casual eating or visiting. A cooktop and Zephyr hood are across from the sink, with landing areas on either side. Beautiful metallic bronze tile completes the aesthetic in this warm and lovely kitchen.
