Our clients bought a very interesting Eichler home in Walnut Creek, and embraced the mid-century modern feel that the house embodied. The kitchen is contemporary, functional, and very cool. The clean lines, sleek stainless steel appliances, and blue soda glass backsplash set the tone for the kitchen.
The kitchen, which features white-painted slab door style cabinets by Crystal Cabinets, opens into the eating area and the living room. Our clients opted for a Thermador 30″ oven and a Thermador 36″ induction cooktop. The countertops are Caesarstone quartz in the color Concrete. The 7.5″ European white oak plank flooring is hand distressed, scraped, and stained ash grey. This is a great contrast to the slab panel cabinet doors and the modern lines of the Zephyr hood. Instead of a tile backsplash, we opted for a unique blue soda glass backsplash, providing a bit of a “wow” factor! We kept the color palette to a simple white in the kitchen and living room, which complemented the hardwood floors, and let the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the backyard be the star of the show. Perfect for a growing family!
The scope of work in this remodel includes a kitchen remodel (removing the wall between the kitchen and living room), new hardwood flooring in the kitchen, hallway, and living room, new electrical, tile flooring in the entryway, and a new fireplace mantle. We also painted the kitchen, nook, two hallways, the laundry room, family room, and office. Perfect for a growing family!
