Our Danville, CA clients were ready to reimagine their entire home, starting with the heart of it all: the kitchen, family room, bar, dry bar, and fireplace. Their vision? A contemporary black‑and‑white kitchen that was as luxe as it was family-friendly, open, inviting, and perfect for entertaining.
The original kitchen felt closed off, with an angled wall, a peninsula, a dated bar, and an uninspired fireplace. We straightened the wall, removed the peninsula, and introduced a large, seated island that’s both a centerpiece and a workhorse. Storage abounds, from full‑height pantries with roll‑outs to lighted glass‑door cabinetry and generous island storage. The island, wrapped in quartz waterfalls and finished in black cabinetry, contrasts beautifully with the white perimeter cabinets. Satin brass hardware and elegant glass pendants tie it all together. Luxe appliances include a 36″ Wolf range with pot filler, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, and a Cove dishwasher.
The kitchen flows seamlessly into a show-stopping bar: symmetrical black cabinetry, lighted glass‑door uppers for glassware display, and a striking patterned tile backsplash. Two 18″ paneled Sub‑Zero wine fridges, a Fisher Paykel dish drawer, and an icemaker make it an entertainer’s dream. Around the corner, the dry bar offers a sleek black base cabinet, lighted white uppers, and a crisp white quartz counter.
In the family room, the old fireplace gave way to a modern linear design with a large wall‑mounted TV above. White painted walls keep the open‑plan space bright and timeless.
The result is a cohesive, contemporary, high‑function living space that’s as stunning as it is comfortable, and perfect for everyday life and unforgettable gatherings.
